Equity in Graduate Education Virtual Journal Club

Join C-CIDE and IGEN for our quarterly Virtual Journal Club on Monday, June 27th at 12pmPT/3pmET.

This meeting will address the development of departmental support structures through a discussion of the article: “Departmental support structures for physics graduate students: Development and psychometric evaluation of a self-report instrument” by Diana Sachmpazidi and Charles Henderson.

During the hour, we will discuss how this work maps onto important issues in STEM graduate education such as mentoring, wellbeing, and persistence. Participants will discuss how and in what form their programs have or lack structures that support graduate students.

Prepare for discussion by reading the article (an article summary will be emailed out the week prior)
